May 19, 2007 Pink Slip Party by Cara Lockwood
A cute little romance with some job angst on the side. The ends of chapters are punctuated with responses to far-fetched job inquiries taken seriously, which worked a lot better in the Shopaholic books. Cara Lockwood is obviously a fan since one of the law firms featured in the book is Kinsella and Wood. I liked the romance, which worked without being shoved down my throat. The cast of characters and their revenge plans were pretty strange. I laughed out loud a few times and even took a few extra minutes to come back from lunch to finish a chapter, so it wasn't all bad. Not a top 10 chick lit book, but a good read nonetheless.
